– Nº 4 Lumiere d’hiver Super comb Prep and Protect. 30 ml.
My comments on the monthly box:
This month I’m “happy” with the box. I’m not really thrilled about the long time it took to deliver (I got the box on Aug 27th) and the rather poor customer service. The quality of products is not bad and there is a good variety, makeup, nails, hair and two skin samples.
A few comments on the items:
I love Aloe Vera. Since I was a kid, my Grandma had a plant and we used it any time our skin got hurt, basically sunburns. However, this Gel just doesn’t behave like a gel, it is too liquid-y so for me it is a big no-no. I like my aloe to be thick as it’s in nature.
The D’Orleac nail polish is not really up my street. For instance, I prefer more classic looks than a crackle effect. The color is a soft pink with blue glitter. It cracked immediately when I applied it to try it and it had multiple tiny lines instead of big ones.
The Ego Professional Khôl liner applies smoothly, way too smoothly, so fluidly that it curved and broke each time I tried to apply it. It is exceedingly easy to smudge and blend (surprise!) and it has pretty shimmery particles in gold and silver. It does not last very long.
Nº4 Super comb Prep and Protect is actually good, I have only tried it once but sometimes one time is enough. I will keep testing it and I might consider to buy the full size. Still too early to decide.
I did not have time to try Skin Method Antioxidant Hydrating Cream Combination/oily skin. I think I will pass on this one as I have more of a dry skin than an oily one.
The box also included a transparent zip bag with their logo in the front and some popsicles in the back/inside part of it. It is not particularly well made. Check the photo below. I think it is the exact same thing provided in the UK Birchbox as I have seen on Instagram. It is kind of cute so I will keep it to store while traveling small makeup things like liners and single eye shadows.
Would I recommend BirchBox Spain?
After some months of being a subscriber I assume I got a nice feeling of what it is/how it works and I am still not convinced. I like samples, but I guess that I rather get them at the store and pick up samples of what I like.
They have a nice point system and if you complete surveys about the samples shipped to you, you can get points to redeem at the store. Who doesn’t like to accumulate points?
There is a bigger variety of brands online and also discount over the products of the month so I’m considering purchasing something (Maybe tell you about the service in that matter).
Once I settle in my new home I will check the possibilities of monthly boxes at the new location.
What do you think of Birchbox?
Do you have any other type of monthly box that you would like to recommend?
